In the desert

“Oh, in the desert we have Christ!”


Matthew unveils to us the pathway to glory.. the way to follow the Lord. Firstly, we are rejected – by religion, by natural knowledge, by politics. So “He departed from there in a boat to a desert place privately” (14:13). Through the church, Christ is now hiding himself away from the religious and political circles in a place without much culture.
